Apply to join the Glean Installer Network
Glean supports homeowners through the solar decision-making process by providing unbiased education and coordinating quotes from a vetted network of installers.
Homeowners receive three solar estimates alongside unbiased guidance, helping them make confident, well-informed decisions. Installers do not pay for leads upfront as a service fee is only collected if a customer commits to move forward with a project.
How Glean works:
1. Submit Installer Application
Complete the solar installer application form below to apply to join the Glean Installer Network. Each application is reviewed to ensure that a potential partnership is a good fit for both parties. Some of this information is used when presenting your company to homeowners alongside your proposal, helping highlight the unique features of your company.
2. Submit Sample Quotes
As part of the approval process, installers will be required to submit sample quotes for review. We will request quotes from you for two hypothetical projects within your service area. The purpose of these sample quote reviews is to better understand how your team approaches both straightforward and complex projects from a technical and pricing perspective. We review system design, equipment selection, scope definition, pricing structure and how clearly assumptions and exclusions are communicated.
Sample quotes are based on hypothetical projects and do not represent real customer opportunities.
3. Network Acceptance
Following the application submission and sample quote review process, Glean will confirm installer approval for Glean’s Installer Network via email. Approval does not guarantee a minimum volume of projects.
Approved installers are also given access to their own private quote status dashboard, which provides the status and outcome of the quote requests they participated in. The dashboard shows whether quotes have been submitted, selected or not selected, helping installers track project outcomes. Glean does not share individual project pricing data or quote-specific details between installers. Installers are never shown another installer’s proposal or pricing.
Participation in Glean’s Installer Network is contingent on meeting Glean’s standards. An installer may be removed from the network for ongoing concerns related to quoting accuracy, pricing practices, communication, payment of invoices, homeowner experience or non-compliance with Glean’s Installer Code of Conduct. While Glean aims to address issues collaboratively, we reserve the right to pause or discontinue participation in the network at our discretion in order to protect homeowners, program partners and the integrity of the service.
4. Receive Project Details
Glean’s database and qualification process have resulted in strong installer win rates. When Glean has a qualified homeowner for your company to provide a quote to, we will send your designated solar designer a Request for Solar Quote by email. The subject line will read: “Glean Request for Solar Quote – [Project #]”. The Request for Solar Quote provides the information required to prepare a high-quality quote efficiently. Each request typically includes:
- Property address and Google Maps pin
- Electrical panel photos
- Annual electricity consumption data (to be used for design)
- Electrical bill (to be used for installer’s own financial estimates)
- Homeowner preferences or unique project details (where applicable)
For more complex projects additional information may be provided. Site visits are not permitted prior to being selected for the project. If additional information is required, please let us know and we will be happy to do our best to obtain it.
Installers are required to reply to the Request for Solar Quote email within 2 business days to confirm whether they intend to submit a quote. While we expect network installers to participate in the majority of requests they receive, we understand that some projects may not be a good fit. If declining a request, please notify us as soon as possible and provide a brief explanation so we can better align future opportunities. If you would like to pause new quote requests from us for any reason, please simply let us know and we will resume when you ready for more work.
To streamline communication and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth, Glean prefers to work directly with your solar design team rather than sales staff, particularly for technical project questions.
5. Submit Solar Quotes
Installers are asked to submit a project quote by the deadline provided in the quote request email using Glean’s quote submission link. The deadline will typically be for 1 week and sometimes shorter than a week. If the timeline cannot be met, please notify us as soon as possible.
Each submission is reviewed to ensure that it is realistic, technically appropriate and clearly presented. Because quotes are prepared without a site visit, homeowners are informed that final system details and pricing may change following a site assessment. Pricing changes are acceptable when they are driven by legitimate factors discovered during a site visit or changes in project scope requested by the homeowner. That being said, proposals are expected to reflect pricing and system assumptions that installers can reasonably stand behind. Intentionally quoting low with the expectation of increasing pricing later is not permitted. If there are known factors that could significantly affect final costs, these should be clearly communicated in your submission so homeowners can make informed decisions based on good-faith quotes.
Glean prepares an easy-to-compare quote summary document for homeowners and shares each installer’s original proposal in full. We also conduct a quote review call with each homeowner to explain the quotes, highlight key differences and address their questions before they select an installer.
6. Connect with Homeowner
If your quote is selected, Glean will make a direct introduction between you and the homeowner via email. Glean expects the installer to respond to this introduction email within 1 business day. At this stage, the customer has been passed to the installer and installers may conduct a site visit, confirm project details and finalize system design directly with the homeowner.
If your quote is not selected, no service fee is owed to Glean. Installers will be able to view the outcome of each request through their installer dashboard, which provides quote status updates (i.e. submitted, selected, not selected).
7. Service Fee and Invoicing
Glean operates on a success-based fee model. Installers do not pay upfront or per lead. Glean expects installers to promptly notify us once a homeowner has signed a contract and provided an initial deposit, as this triggers invoicing. Glean will invoice the installer based on the final system cost, excluding rebates and GST/HST. Installers are responsible for ensuring that this information is communicated accurately and in a timely manner. Glean will follow-up with customers for updates, to gather program data, and ensure quality of service.
Glean’s fee structure is set at 2% of the total project cost (plus applicable taxes) for 2026. This low fee is due to our participation in The Atmospheric Fund’s Home Solar Accelerator Program (see #8 below). The program’s current plan is to increase the fee to 4% in 2027 and 6% in 2028; however, this will be reviewed prior to any official announcement.
Invoices are payable within 15 days and can be settled by e-transfer or credit card (a 2.99% processing fee applies).
Please Note: To ensure a reliable experience for homeowners and program partners, Glean prioritizes working with installers who are responsive, easy to collaborate with and consistently remit invoices on time. Strong performance in these areas may result in preferential access to future project opportunities.
8. Reporting and Program Insights
Glean is currently partnered with The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) to run the Home Solar Accelerator Program in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The program’s goals are outreach and to improve the solar industry long term. While Glean will collect information from homeowners where possible, we may also rely on installers to provide timely updates as projects move through permitting, installation and commissioning. The purpose of this reporting is not administrative oversight, but industry improvement. This data will help Glean and TAF work with local distribution companies (such as Toronto Hydro) to identify bottlenecks, improve permitting processes and support policies that make solar easier and faster to deploy. We encourage installers to participate in this effort and view reporting as a shared investment in improving the long-term health, efficiency, and credibility of the solar industry.
Glean Solar Installer Code of Conduct

Installers in the Glean Installer Network are expected to adhere to our Code of Conduct as a condition of participation. This code exists to protect homeowners, support fair competition and uphold trust within the Canadian solar industry.
Please review our code of conduct before submitting your application.
